IMPORTANT NOTICE | UPDATE ON TRANSCO BUS SERVICE - SEPTEMBER 17, 2025
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Today, September 17th, we were informed that Transco has received the missing parts needed for their electric vehicles.
So far, 3 vehicles have been repaired and approved for operation. Work on the remaining vehicles will continue over the next few days until all 76 buses have been inspected.
The EMSB will provide daily updates on which buses are authorized to return to service.
For tomorrow, Thursday, September 18, only 3 Transco buses have been cleared to operate and transport students.
- Bus 104
- Bus 105
- Bus 108
At the end of the day tomorrow, the EMSB will share an update on the next vehicles authorized to resume service.
Until further notice, we kindly ask that parents make the necessary arrangement to transport their children to and from school.
Please note:
- All diesel (non-electric) buses will continue to operate as usual and will transport EMSB students without interruption.
- There will likely be increased traffic around the school during drop-off and pick-up times. For safety reasons, we ask for your patience and cooperation in ensuring a smooth and secure process.
We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you in advance for your understanding and support.

International Student Program – Youth Sector
The English Montreal School Board network of secondary schools, spread across the island of Montreal, offers a variety of excellent programs for students in Secondary I to V (Grades 7 to 11). Our schools embrace a multicultural environment, offering enriching programs and a global perspective on learning. Our secondary level French programs continue to extend and exceed the Quebec Ministry of Education standards. In addition, we offer a variety of sports and extra-curricular activities. We also provide first-rate counselling and other personal, health and educational support to our student population to enrich the life of adolescents as they engage in this next stage of learning.
This is what our students say about us...
I first started studying in Montreal, I had many difficulties because I had to learn English and French at the same time. But thanks to the help of many teachers and friends, I was able to overcome those difficulties. Don’t be afraid because you are not comfortable speaking in English and French. It is your first adventure in a new country. Embrace experience to make new friends who speak different languages. It opened my eyes to whole new world.

3 years of high school at EMSB gave me the most beautiful memory in my life. I would like to thank EMSB International Student Facilitators for organizing extracurricular activities to help us deepen our understanding of the new culture and contribute to our unique experience in Canada.

Being a shy international student was not a wise move, but EMSB got my back and introduced me to the community where the students were just as homesick as me. Let us just say I made lifetime friends! Go to the EMSB orientation for international students which will take place every year after the pandemic!! It is helpful for fresh off the boats and a great chance to get in touch with your community in a foreign country.
