HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

To receive a Secondary School Diploma (DES) a student must:

  1. Accumulate a minimum of 54 credits in Secondary 4 and 5.
  2. Twenty (20) of these credits must be at the Secondary 5 level.

Please take note that to receive a Quebec Secondary School Diploma (Diplôme d'études sécondaire in French) the student must have passed all of these following courses with a minimum of 60%. These courses are offered in both secondary IV (Grade 10) and secondary V (Grade 11).

Course codes identify the grade level (fourth digit) as well as the number of credits earned for the course (last digit) e.g. 563426 is for Sec IV, and the number of credits earned for the course is 6.

*PLEASE NOTE: Many CEGEP programs have specific pre-requisites (entrance requirements) such as Math 506, Chemistry, Physics, etc…Please check CEGEP websites to make sure you have the requirements for the program you are interested in. If you have any questions about your credit status, see your Guidance Counsellor.
