240 Status

A "240 status" school is established under Section 240 of the Quebec Education Act for the purposes of a specific educational project or specialization.

A 240 status requires that the boundaries of the school remain open. Therefore, the school may accept students from Montreal and the surrounding areas on a first-come first-served basis provided they meet the admission requirements.

A 240 status school does not provide bus transportation to elementary or secondary school students.
